We are finding that joint ministry doubles the blessings and halves the work.\u00a0As our lives have come together, each congregation has gained an abundance of new friends and coworkers to share talents, resources, and common purpose.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Food pantry \u2013 bags of food are available to those in need on a once-per-month basis; we take donations of canned (with pop-tops) or packaged protein (tuna, sardines, vienna sausages , etc.) and vegetables, individual servings of fruit and applesauce, crackers, bottled water, etc.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Summer Celebration\" href=\"https:\/\/redeemerhouston.org\/?event=summer-celebration\">Summer Celebration <\/a>\u2013 a program for both adults and children that offers music, drama, food, and fellowship<\/li>\n<li>Mutual support of each congregation&#8217;s fundraisers to send children to summer church camp<\/li>\n<li>Fall Festival<\/li>\n<li>Valentine\u2019s fundraiser<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts\" href=\"https:\/\/redeemerhouston.org\/?page_id=219\">Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Collecting toiletries and goods for various Houston missions<\/li>\n<li>Joint support of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebridgeovertroubledwaters.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Bridge Over Troubled Waters<\/a>, a South Houston haven for abused women and children<\/li>\n<li>Joint support of local and overseas missions<\/li>\n<li>Joint Episcopal\u2013Lutheran services on special occasions<\/li>\n<li>Sewing ministry\u00a0\u2013 quilts for the <a title=\"Krause Children's Center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.krausechildrenscenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Krause Children&#8217;s Center <\/a>and <a title=\"World Relief\" href=\"http:\/\/www.worldrelief.org\" target=\"_blank\">World Relief <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two are better than one, because they have a good return on their labor.
